This means if you disconnect your TV, the Big Picture profile will skip and run on your normal audio device. If an Audio Device is not found, then the profile will be skipped. Use this to prioritise various profiles (Right click to move up and down). So if two profiles are valid, it will use the first one it finds.
AUDIOSWITCHER STARTUP UPDATE
Choose Update and recovery from the list on the left (or General prior to Windows 8.1). In Windows 8, swipe from the right to open the charms bar.
In Windows 10, select the Start button, and then choose the settings button followed by Update & Security. Things to note about the goes through the profiles in order that they are listed. In Windows 11, right-click the Start button and choose Settings.

The program can do many other things (different volumes at different times of the day, switching to headphones instead of TV at night time, switching to Headset when TeamSpeak is open, etc). This will now auto switch when Big Picture is detected. Another possibility is that you downloaded AudioSwitcher.exe from a. Pick your default audio device from the drop down and make sure Conditions is set to default. In your case, AudioSwitcher.exe is running from C:Misc which is not a normal location for an application to be running from. Once saved, create a new profile called "Default". Set default volume and schedule if you wish. Under Conditions, select "Preset -> Steam Big Picture". Select the Audio Device from the drop down list and click "Add" to add it to the profile. Set the Profile Name to whatever you want ("Steam Big Picture" or something).
To get it to work, open the program and go to "Create". The beautiful part of Audio Switcher is it's simplicity. No longer do you have to go into Control Panel or the Windows Sound options, instead there is an easy to access icon, or even hotkeys. Audio Switcher makes switching between sound devices trivial. If you want to return to a silent Toast Notification, open the file selector, and just do Cancel. Audio Switcher is a 100 free, and Open Source application for Windows Vista, 7, and 8. The same as a Sound Notification but you can specify the sound which is played. As an update to my previous app "Big Picture Auto Switcher", I introduce the far more flexible "Auto Audio Switch". This way when you are switching devices, the new device will 'chime' to tell you it's selected.
